Johnson & Johnson has earned CE mark clearance for its ACUVUE OASYS MAX 2-Week reusable contact lens.

ACUVUE OASYS MAX 2-Week combines the company’s Eye-Inspired Designs with technologies intended to support comfort and visual clarity throughout the two-week wear cycle. Features include an OptiBlue Light Filter that filters at least 60% of blue-violet light, TearStable Technology to help retain moisture, and Class 1 UV blocking, J&J said. The lenses were engineered to offer clear vision for screen use, outdoor activities, and nighttime driving.

For eye care professionals, J&J said the new lens employs the same fitting process as ACUVUE OASYS 2-Week, with no additional chair time. Clinical testing found that 99% of existing ACUVUE OASYS 2-Week wearers could be refit with the same power, base curve, and diameter.

The lens expands the ACUVUE OASYS MAX portfolio and is expected to launch in select European markets late this year, followed by broader expansion in 2027 and 2028, pending local regulatory approvals and market readiness.

“People who choose reusable contact lenses should not have to compromise on comfort or clarity as their days get busier and their eyes work harder,” said Jacqueline Henderson, Company Group Chair, Vision, MedTech. “With ACUVUE OASYS MAX 2-Week, we are bringing our most advanced ACUVUE technologies to a reusable lens, helping more people see clearly and feel comfortable throughout the full two-week wear cycle.”

Last month, J&J introduced the DISH Classification System, a clinician-developed global framework to standardize surgical site outcome reporting and improve visibility into underreported infections and wound complications.
